HGS-10A portable digital tesla meter can be used to measure the magnetic induction intensity of various kinds of magnetic fields, such as dc magnetic field, loudspeaker, magnetic separator, working magnetic field of permanent magnet iron remover, leakage magnetic field, demagnetization and residual magnetic field after parts processing. The instrument can be carried around, with a wide range, easy operation and clear LCD display.

Working principle:

This series of instruments is based on the principle of hall effect made of the sensor, namely hall sensor. There are two kinds of sensors, transverse and axial, which can be selected or matched by users according to their needs. The circuit adopts low drift amplifier, high stability power supply and 31/2 LCD display.

(I) Hall effect principle

Placing a metal or semiconductor wafer in a magnetic field creates an electromotive force (emf) in the direction perpendicular to the current and magnetic field, a physical phenomenon known as the hall effect. Hall effect principle is the essence of the material of the solid carrier in additional magnetic field (B) perpendicular to the solid material in the movement, due to the effect of lorentz force (FB) and offset in the trajectory, and the material on both sides of (3.4) to produce electric charge accumulation in vertical direction of the current direction of the electric field and magnetic field, and finally make the carrier by the lorentz force and electric repulsion balance (FB = Fe) and on the two sides established a stable electric potential difference is the hall voltage (VH). The basic equation is:

The direction of the magnetic force line of the measured magnetic field is perpendicular to the hall element at the front of the sensor (as shown in the figure on the right).

2. The diagram and description of the magnetic field measured by the handheld sensor are shown in the figure on the right. Use the position of 2.3MM at the end of the hall element at the front end of the sensor (the opposite side of the scale, and the copper probe is the opposite side marked by a small circle) to gently touch the surface of the measured magnet or the position of the measured spatial magnetic field. 

3. Improper hand-held sensor method forces the top of the sensor to the surface of the measured object (as shown in the picture on the right), which can easily damage the sensor.
